Nakawe Experiences’ mission is to improve the preservation of the environment by fostering a relationship between humans and nature and address the root cause of environmental issues: human behavior. We aim to create meaningful, life-changing experiences for our guests that will inspire them to become more intimately involved in conservation long after their experience with us is over.

On the ground, in the remote places we visit, our expeditions will support conservation, research, and community engagement efforts that serve to bring long-term sustainable relationships between humans and nature.

Do you have questions?

Check below through some frequently asked questions. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if some are still left unanswered.

  • Is this only for freedivers?

    No, but you'll need:

    • Previous snorkeling experience required (for marlin, sharks & mobula experiences)
    • Good physical condition
    • Swimming skills
  • I’m not a strong swimmer, can I join?

It is a requirement that all participants must be able to swim and feel comfortable in water to join our Marlin, Sharks and Mobula expeditions. This is for your own safety and comfort. You do however not need to be a very strong swimmer, merely able to swim and be comfortable in the water.

  • What age do I need to be?

Minimum age of 12 (with adult supervision)

  • Can I bring a camera underwater?

Of course! You are free to take your own photos or video on our experiences with us, but we ask that your equipment is attached to your body in one way or another, for example with a wrist band. We do however not advise that you take lights, flashes or strobes.

Make sure that you read the instructions that come with your photography equipment of how deep and/or cold you are allowed to take it underwater, we strongly encourage you to follow them thoroughly. We do not take any responsibility of lost or damage photography gear that may happen on tour with us.

In case you are a professional photographer or a film crew, please contact us before to organize your party.

  • What type of diving gear is needed?

Mask, snorkel, 3.5/5mm wetsuit, fins and weight belt.

Rental gear, weight belts, and weights are available, but please let us know in advance of your trip if you require any rental gear so that we can have it ready for your arrival in Cabo San Lucas.

We don’t recommend strobes because all of the action is near the surface (0-3m). Strobes also make it more difficult to swim quickly.

  • What else do I need to bring?
    • Swimsuit
    • Sunglasses
    • Biodegradable sunblock
    • Cap or hat
    • Towel
    • Dry bag
    • Windbreaker
  • Is there any paperwork I need to fill out?

A waiver of liability release must be signed before participating in any activity.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

Paypal, cash and wire transfer. The 16% governmental tax (IVA) will be charged with credit cards and wire transfer payments.

  • Which airport should I fly to?

Los Cabos International in San José del Cabo, Mexico. The airport code is SJD.

  • When should I fly in?

At least 1 day before your trip start date to avoid any issues with delays.

  • How should I get to Cabo San Lucas from the SJD airport?

    We recommend Eliker Transfers
